Justin Sherfey was born in the inland northwest in Spokane, Washington.  He's currently booking through 2017-2018, and is able to meet your needs whether you're looking for a solo, duo or full band experience !

Justin has numerous music projects and has performed all aspects of entertainment, from intimate settings to thousands of people in the crowd.  His most recent project is Justin Sherfey & Rye River Boys, a thriving young adult (now that all members are 18+ lol!) bluegrass band with notable National recognitions. He is also part of a high flying acoustic duo Acuff and Sherfey.  Recently he’s been invited to play with Vince Gill, The Kelly Hughes Band, County Line and other local country bands.

Justin is a championship fiddle player, vocalist and multi instrumentalist, playing the mandolin, guitar, bass, and percussion.

He has won numerous competitions throughout the Northwest. He most recently won the Young Adult Championship at the National Fiddle Contest.  He also won the Championship division for the THIRD consecutive year at the Northwest Region Fiddle Competition. Justin has earned other countless awards.

Justin’s love of music is not strictly limited to performing. He is a music instructor and has taught private lessons as well as at summer camps.  Passing on the tradition of music is important to him and he will continue teaching life-long.

Justin was infected with fiddling in 2006 after attending the famed National Fiddle Contest with his Grandpa Dickerson.  Justin has studied music under the Ludiker family, Mathew Hartz, Katrina Nicolayeff, and Megan Lynch. Throughout his studies he discovered a great love for fiddling and realized it would take strong determination and dedication to become a championship fiddler. Justin was lit on fire after not making top 5 at the NorthWest Regional US Fiddle contest in 2008.  Two weeks later he won the WA State Fiddlers contest and went on to become an avid participant in fiddle contests across the Northwest as well as traveling to Austin, Texas and Nashville, TN.
